Have you ever heard something at just the right time in your life? And it clicked?
This moment literally happened to me today! It made me stop and realize what I had been doing was not for the right reasons or intentions. Then it made me think of people everywhere going through fitness journeys. Why are they doing it? Who are they doing it for? Why is this so important to them now, as opposed to 6 months ago? Did something happen in their life that made them think they needed to become more healthy?
So many of us go on these fitness journeys because we don’t like the way we look. We see the instagram models flashing up on our screens daily of what it looks like to be happy & healthy. But the secret is we have NO IDEA what these models or fitness beauties are actually going though. Are they really that happy? I guarantee they still have shit going on in their lives that they have to deal with. A picture can be a beautiful thing that allows us to become inspired or motivated but it can also have a negative side where we start comparing and envying those that “appear” to have it all together. The truth is no matter what you look like, you will always have shit going on. There will always be something on your body that you want to change or don’t like.
Y’all we have to learn to love ourselves. Love yourself for who you are, inside and out!
If your on a fitness journey and you are reading this right now. STOP and ask yourself why? Why is this important to me? NOW remember this! Because this journey will be anything but fast. It may take months, even years to accomplish what you want to achieve. But if you remember the reasons WHY this is important, you will continue to stay on track and NOT give up! Mentally, you have to be ready for the change, otherwise you will be giving up when you didn’t lose that 20lbs in the first 2 weeks of meal prepping and training.
